Gold represents wealth, Gatsby tried to win Daisy back with his parties by his show of wealth. Green represents hope and prosperity, Gatsby hopes for a life together with Daisy. White represents false purity or goodness; Daisy and Jordan are always seen in white. Yellow represents corruptness and things that go bad; Gatsby’s yellow car represents corrupt dishonesty and deception. Red represents death, like the death of Myrtle and Gatsby. Gray represents lack of life and spirit, which is why everything in the Valley of Ashes is gray.
